A Custom Golf Flag That Looks Like It Belongs at Augusta

Let's be honest. The golfer in your life has enough balls, tees and logoed quarter-zips to last several lifetimes. What they don't have — and what they absolutely will not buy for themselves — is a custom golf flag that looks like it was pulled from the archives of a storied private club circa 1962.

That's where we come in.

What is a Custom Golf Flag, Exactly?

A custom golf flag is exactly what it sounds like — a flag, made for a golfer, customized with the name of their home course, favorite club or any other piece of golf geography that means something to them. Think Augusta National. Pebble Beach. Winged Foot. The municipal course where they had their first hole-in-one at age 52.

At Hoist & Halyard, our custom golf flags are vintage-inspired and built to look like they've been around since the golden age of the game. Because that's exactly the vibe golfers respond to.

How We Make Them

Every Hoist & Halyard custom golf flag starts with washed 10 oz duck canvas — the same sturdy, no-nonsense material we use across everything we make. From there:

Wool felt letters are hand sewn onto the canvas— not printed, not heat-transferred. It’s hand sewn with the kind of lettering that looks like it belongs on a flag from a bygone era, because it does.

Tea-stained twill tape gives the edges that timeworn quality that makes each flag look like it's already been around the block a few times. In a good way.

Weathered brass grommets finish it off — the kind of hardware that looks like it's been hanging in a caddy shack since 1955.

Each flag measures roughly 14" x 20" — substantial enough to make a statement, sized perfectly for an 18"x24" frame or hung directly on the wall with small pins or thumbtacks.

And because every flag is sewn and aged by hand, no two are exactly alike. Stray threads and minor variations aren't mistakes, they're features.

Who is a Custom Golf Flag For?

The short answer: any golfer who appreciates the history and craft of the game as much as the game itself. In our experience, that's most of them.

The home club loyalist. They've played the same course for thirty years. They know every break on every green. They have opinions about the greenskeeper. A custom golf flag with their club's name on it isn't just a gift— it's a tribute.

The bucket list golfer. They finally played Pebble Beach or the Ocean Course. A custom golf flag commemorating that trip lives on the wall long after the scorecard gets lost.

The hole-in-one guy. He's told the story approximately four hundred times. Give him something to point at while he tells it again.

The golf dad. He's impossible to shop for. He has everything, but he does not have this.

The new member. Just joined a club? A custom flag with the course name is a genuinely thoughtful way to mark the occasion. Better than a gift card to the pro shop.

How to Order

The process is straightforward and we make it easy:

1. Head to the Custom Golf Flag page and enter your course name — up to 15 characters for one word, 20 for two words. Pro tip: "Country Club" abbreviates nicely as "CC."

2. Add to cart and check out.

3. We'll reach out to finalize canvas and lettering colors, then send a digital mockup for your approval before we start making it.

Allow 2-3 weeks from order to delivery — good things take time, and we're not rushing this. Custom golf flags are $129.99.

One More Thing

A mass-produced golf gift says "I didn't know what else to get you." A handcrafted custom golf flag says "I know exactly who you are and what you love." That's a meaningful gift. And it looks a lot better on the wall than another logoed hat.
