Fearing an association with communist Russia, the Reds unofficially changed their name to the Redlegs in the 1950’s. Soon after, their farm system started developing a group of star players that would rise through the ranks and become the engine of the Big Red Machine. Those teams, armed with the likes of Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Pete Rose and Joe Morgan, dominated baseball in the early 70s.
Our Redlegs pennant brings back memories of that pivotal era in the franchise’s storied history and features the uniform’s wishbone-shaped C with classic, block type.
