Fearing an association with communist Russia, the Reds unofficially changed their name to the Redlegs in the 1950’s. Soon after, their farm system started developing a group of star players that would rise through the ranks and become the engine of the Big Red Machine. Those teams, armed with the likes of Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Pete Rose and Joe Morgan, dominated baseball in the early 70s.

Our Redlegs pennant brings back memories of that pivotal era in the franchise’s storied history and features the uniform’s wishbone-shaped C with classic, block type.

ABOUT OUR PENNANTS

Hoist & Halyard vintage-inspired pennants are the perfect gift for you or someone special in your life. Any occasion is the right occasion—birthday, holiday, graduation, wedding, reunion or just because. They instantly bring a “whoa factor” to any space including the family room, rec room, home office, gallery wall, man cave, garage, bar room and pool house, to name a few.

Our pennants measure roughly 12” x 20” and are constructed with washed 10 oz duck canvas, tea-stained twill tape and all-purpose thread. Each one is sewn, screen painted and aged by hand for a homespun, timeworn look that ensures no two are alike.

They’re lightweight and can be easily hung using sticky-tack, small pins or thumbtacks. Displaying them in a frame looks great too—we recommend 16" x 24". You can also run string, twine or a 1/2" wooden dowel through their twill header and hang them vertically.
